About the Report
The greater Flushing area saw two decades of strong employment and small business growth pre-pandemic, making it one of the fastest growing local economies in NYC. Tragically the pandemic hit the region particularly hard, stalling economic progress and exacerbated long-standing issues such as significant rent burdens, poverty, and public transportation reliability.
An unprecedented year and a half later, Flushing is seeing signs of strong recovery, on both a public health and economic level in part due to targeted federal relief programs and high vaccination rates.
