Payment Rejections and Other Cost Recoveries

The Comptroller's rejection of nearly 500 payments valued at more than $1 million included tax refunds valued at nearly $50,000. The Comptroller's auditors also recovered more than $124,000 from vendors owing debts to the state, and held payments of more than $177,000 pending resolution of disputes between subcontractors and prime contractors.

Cumulatively through November for calendar year 2017, State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli's office has approved 17,094 contracts valued at $44.6 billion and approved more than 28.1 million payments worth more than $124.5 billion. His office has also rejected 2,062 contracts and related transactions valued at $40.9 billion and more than 21,000 payments valued at nearly $231 million.
