Other Payment Rejections and Other Cost Recoveries
DiNapoli’s office rejected tax refunds and credits valued at more than $17.1 million. Auditors also recovered nearly $483,000 from vendors owing debts to the state and held nearly $455,000 in payments pending resolution of disputes between subcontractors and prime contractors.
Cumulatively through February for calendar year 2024, DiNapoli’s office approved 3,026 contracts valued at $8.5 billion and approved more than 5.2 million payments worth nearly $26.4 billion. The office rejected 341 contracts and related transactions valued at nearly $7.6 billion and nearly 7,100 payments valued at nearly $41.5 million primarily due to errors, improprieties, or lack of documentation.
