Other Payment Rejections and Other Cost Recoveries
DiNapoli’s office rejected tax refunds and credits valued at nearly $3.5 million. Auditors also recovered more than $388,000 from vendors owing debts to the state and held more than $841,000 in payments pending resolution of disputes between subcontractors and prime contractors.
Cumulatively through May for calendar year 2024, DiNapoli’s office approved 8,787 contracts valued at $277.8 billion and approved more than 15.5 million payments worth more than $89.5 billion. The office rejected 1,085 contracts and related transactions valued at nearly $11.5 million and more than 21,400 payments valued at more than ;$101.1 million primarily due to errors, improprieties, or lack of documentation.
