Purpose
To provide guidelines and processing procedures for the 2006 1% General Salary Increase.
Affected Employees
Classified CUNY employees represented by:
- Service Employees International Union (SEIU) - Bargaining Unit S6
- International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) - Bargaining Unit T3

General Salary Increases may be submitted in Pay Period 7C (Institution), paychecks dated 7/06/06
Background
The Memorandum of Understanding for Successor Agreements to the 2002-2006 Blue & White Collar Agreement between CUNY, SEIU and IATSE provides for a 1% General Salary Increase for certain eligible employees.
General Salary Increase Eligibility Criteria
All salaried and hourly employees represented by Bargaining Units S6 and T3 who are Active or on a Paid Leave of Absence on 6/29/06 are eligible for a 1% increase effective 6/30/06.
For salaried employees, the 1% General Salary Increase should be rounded to the nearest dollar. For hourly employees, the 1% General Salary Increase should be rounded to the nearest cent (.5 rounds up, less than .5 rounds down).
Agency Actions
Salaried Employees:
To process the 1% General Salary Increase for eligible salaried employees, agencies must submit a Job Action Request transaction using the Action/Reason of PAY/CFS (Salary Increase) to report increases that are effective on 6/30/06.
To update any rows after 6/30/06 for employees who remain in Bargaining Unit S6 or T3, agencies should enter Job Request transactions with the Action/Reason of Pay Rate Chg/CSL (Correct Salary) using the next available sequence number.
Hourly Employees:
To process the 1% General Salary Increase for eligible hourly employees, agencies must submit a Job Action Request transaction using the Action/Reason of PAY/CRT (Change Rate) to report all increases in the hourly rate, regardless of the effective date.
