To notify the Division of State Police of the procedures for processing the Training Stipend(s)
Affected Employees
Troopers in Bargaining Unit 07, Commissioned/Non-Commissioned Officers in Bargaining Unit 17, Investigators and Senior Investigators in Bargaining Unit 62

Contract Provisions and Eligibility Criteria
Chapters 8, 9, and 10 of the Laws of 2001, provide for an annual lump sum Training Stipend for members in Bargaining Units 07, 17, and 62.
Bargaining Unit 07
Effective for the periods FY 1999-2000 and FY 2000-2001, a member is entitled to a lump sum payment for professional development. The combined payment amount may not exceed $440.35.
Bargaining Unit 17
Effective for the periods FY 1999-2000 and FY 2000-2001, a member is entitled to a lump sum payment for professional development. The combined payment amount may not exceed $540.90.
Bargaining Unit 62
Effective for the period FY 2001-2002, a member is entitled to a lump sum in the amount of $308.87 for specialty training.
Overtime Calculation and Retirement Salary Credit
Effective with the payment of this Training Stipend, overtime calculations for employees in all three bargaining units will be calculated using the Training Stipend amount in the Additional Pay panel for overtime worked September 13, 2001 thru September 11, 2002.
The Training Stipend is included as salary for retirement purposes.

*For employees in Bargaining Units 07 and 17 that are due both payments, enter the combined amount for both years.
For eligible employees who have become inactive or changed bargaining units, use the effective date of the last day of active service in an eligible bargaining unit.
Payroll Register and Employees' Check
The training stipend will be paid in a separate check. There will be no direct deposit for these payments.
The earn code TST will be displayed on the payroll register. The earn code description, Training Stipend for State Police, will appear on the employee's check stub.
