To notify the Division of State Police of the procedures for processing the Training Stipend.

Contract Provisions and Eligibility Criteria
Chapter 8 of the Laws of 2001, provides for an annual lump sum Training Stipend for Investigators and Senior Investigators in Bargaining Unit 62.
Effective for the period FY 2002-2003, a member is entitled to a lump sum in the amount of $853.08 for having attended specialty training during the period January 14, 2002 to March 15, 2002.
The Training Stipend for employees who were unable to attend training due to extended sick leave or military leave will be deferred until their return to duty, after they have completed the training.
The Training Stipend is included as salary for retirement purposes and is included in the calculation for overtime.

Payroll Register and Employee's Check
The training stipend will be paid in a separate check. There will be no direct deposit for these payments.
The earn code TST will be displayed on the payroll register. The earn code description, Training Stipend for State Police, will appear on the employee's check stub.
