Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to assess the City’s progress, as of January 26, 2015, in implementing our recommendations in the audit report released in May 2013.

Background

The City of Poughkeepsie is located in Dutchess County and has approximately 33,000 residents. The City is governed by an elected Mayor and an eight member elected Common Council.

Results of Review

Based on our limited procedures, it appears that the City has made some improvements. Of the seven audit recommendations, three were fully implemented, three were partially implemented and one was not implemented.
