Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to examine the District’s purchasing practices for the period July 1, 2014 through October 31, 2015.

Background

The Hicksville Union Free School District is located in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County. The District, which operates nine schools with approximately 5,250 students, is governed by an elected seven-member Board of Education. Budgeted appropriations for the 2015-16 fiscal year total approximately $130.2 million.

• The District procured goods and services in accordance with its policy and the statutory requirements.
