Purpose of Audit
The purpose of our audit was to determine whether the District provided special education services in a cost-effective manner for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015.
Background
The Unadilla Valley Central School District is located in 10 towns in Chenango, Otsego and Madison Counties. The District, which operates one school with approximately 900 students, is governed by an elected seven-member Board of Education. Budgeted appropriations for the 2015-16 fiscal year total approximately $18.6 million.
Key Finding
- District officials provided special education services to District students in a cost-effective manner and saved the District a total of approximately $339,000 in program and related services costs during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 fiscal years.
