Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to determine whether District officials paid employee salaries and wages accurately for the period July 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017.

Background

The Islip Union Free School District is located in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County. The District is governed by a seven-member Board of Education. Budgeted appropriations for the 2017-18 fiscal year total approximately $82.4 million.

Noteworthy Achievements

• Except for minor discrepancies that we discussed with officials, District officials accurately calculated and paid gross salaries and wages.
