Voluntary Credits and Deductions Program Guide

The Credits and Deductions file that you send to NYSLRS tells us when you are adding, updating, or terminating deductions for a NYSLRS retiree. Each row of data is a transaction that identifies:

  • The retiree;
  • The kind of transaction you are making;
  • The amount of the deduction; and
  • When the deduction should begin or end.

NYSLRS offers a Credits and Deductions Setup Tool (Excel template) to help you create the file. We will send you a master file of the Excel template that you can save and open each time you need to create a file.
