Mid-Hudson Location Pay is additional compensation paid to an employee whose principal place of employment or official station is located in the counties of Orange, Dutchess, or Putnam.
This compensation is an amount established by law and is in addition to, and not part of, the employee’s basic annual salary and does not affect other provisions of the laws concerning salary determinations.
Part-time and seasonal employees are not eligible for Mid-Hudson Location Pay *. However, full-time eligible employees on an authorized leave with part-time salary and employees on VRWS continue to receive this compensation on a pro-rated basis.
*Certain PEF and CSEA seasonal employees may be eligible for a Mid-Hudson Location Pay lump sum payment. Refer to payroll bulletin 829 for PEF and payroll bulletin 817 for CSEA for more information.
Mid-Hudson Location Pay must be discontinued if the employee is reassigned to an area for which Mid-Hudson Location Pay is not authorized.
The following State officers and employees are not eligible for Mid-Hudson Location Pay:
- Officers and employees of the Legislature;
- The Governor, Lt. Governor, Comptroller, Attorney General, and Commissioners and other officers whose salary is set by Section 69 of the Executive Law;
- Employees in the professional service in the State University or in institutions under the management of Cornell or Alfred Universities;
- Judges and Justices in the Judiciary;
- Superintendents of Correctional Facility
